Twitter rumour: Wayne Rooney & Phil Jones in training ground fight pre Swansea
Rumours were doing the rounds on Twitter last night that Wayne Rooney and Phil Jones had been involved in a fight in Manchester United’s final training session ahead of the Swansea match today.
If this is true, you wonder why none of the tabloids in England have run with the story?
But, according to Twitter, Rooney and Jones were involved in a scuffle that means the England striker has been left out of the Manchester United squad for today’s match with Swansea.
With it being Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge at Old Trafford and Paul Scholes also announcing his retirement on Saturday night – this, if true, could not come at a worse time for Wayne Rooney.
On Friday, Rooney was forced to release a statement concerning his Twitter bio, so far there have been no denials to the training ground spat rumours.
This has to be rubbish, right?

If there is any truth in this story that Phil Jones has had a scrap with Rooney in training, it’s going to be the story of the season. #mufc

Phil Jones clobbering Rooney would be a late winner for moment of the season, surely?
— Callum Hamilton (@Callum_TH) May 11, 2013
Do find it hard to believe that Jones clouted Rooney. Rooney used to box when he was younger.

Will Rooney release a statement on his website denying the Jones rumours?

Phil Jones and Wayne Rooney still follow each other. That exactly means all is well. #TwitterLogic
