Ronaldinho is depicted as the April Fool in the Brazilian press this morning after buck-toothed wonder missed a sitter in Flamengo’s Carioca encounter with Bangu on Sunday.
Just a couple of months after Flamengo team mate Deivid was credited with “the worst miss ever,” the former Barcelona forward produced his own horror show in a match the Rio giants would go on to win 2-1.
The big moment came after 24 minutes, with a cross from the right that was headed on goal by the aforementioned Deivid but parried out by the Bangu keeper.
Ronaldinho was left just metres out with a gaping goal at his mercy but somehow managed to blaze the ball over and Brazilian TV have slowed down the miss to enjoy it from a number of angles.
The Brazilian legend had his excuses ready for the post-match interview: “The ball took a bobble when it happened. It was easy, but it got stuck in my ankle.”
