“Paulinho was another injury, having to come off. He was immense today, wasn’t he? Fantastic. I never knew he possessed that, I have to be honest. I’ve seen him in training so have seen him gradually, as there is not a lot of time to train. He certainly opened up my eyes when I saw him out there today.” – Spurs boss Tim Sherwood.
What’s that? Tottenham’s most skilful and incisive player was injured by Charlie Adam?
Substitute Gareth Bale for Paulinho and the Stoke hardman yet again stuck the boot in after the Brazilian had produced some mesmerising skills in the first half of Tottenham’s win over the Potters.
Paulinho has had an up-and-down time at Tottenham this season but appeared to have found his feet at White Hart Lane yesterday, perhaps thanks to an enforced break after a 3-game suspension.
There were 3 stand out moments.
A wonder back heel flick through to Roberto Soldado.
A lovely flick through ball to Christian Eriksen.
And, finally, a cheeky double Sombrero!
