Top of the Premier League and in with a shout of a trophy in the FA Cup or Champions League, things are going well for Arsenal.
One cloud on the horizon is the fact Bacary Sagna’s contract is up at the end of the season and the 30-year-old appears to be in no rush to leave.
Whilst Sagna’s performances have been to a very high standard of late and his public pronouncements always positive, the French defender can talk to other clubs and leave on a free transfer at the end of 2013/2014.
France Football report today that Arsene Wenger is confident Sagna will sign a new deal at the Emirates.
Wenger told the French newspaper: “We’ll try to extend it because he is a very important player. He is fully involved in the project and is determined at each game.”
France Football add that Sagna has been offered a 3-year contract extension worth five million euros per season.
As can be seen on the left, France Football expect Sagna to stay at Arsenal – describing the right back as a “Gunner Forever.”
