Gary Roberts scores a 70-yard golazo for Swindon at Tranmere

Take a bow son!

A turbulent 48 hours for Swindon Town was steadied on Tuesday night when the League One leaders won 3-1 at top-six opponents Tranmere.

The standout moment in Swindon’s away win on Merseyside was an incredible 70-yard golazo from Gary Roberts.

In the third minute of second half injury time, as Tranmere were going hell for leather to try and get an equaliser, the ball fell to Roberts midway through his own half. Noticing that home keeper Owain Williams was miles off his lines, Roberts connected with a huge half-volley that soared through the night’s sky and into the net.
