It was another good night for Gareth Bale and his budding partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Welshman was instrumental in Real Madrid’s 1-0 at Espanyol, charging up and down the right flank, and intriguingly swapping sides with Ronaldo at times to pop up on the left.
Bale nearly repeated his free-kick magic from the weekend, but Espanyol keeper Casilla just managed to tip his effort over the bar.
Otherwise, Bale had several half chances which he could have done better with, snatching at rushed shots rather than taking more time to compose himself.
These was also the piece de resistance of a Zizou roulette to look out for, which Bale may soon have name after himself…
