Emmanuel Frimpong received one of the most socially unjust red cards ever today.
The former Arsenal man got a red card for reacting to the racial abuse he was receiving throughout the entire game, eventually lashing out and swearing at one particular Spartak Moscow fan within his earshot and sight.
It was the first game of the Russian Premier League, and with Ufa travelling to Spartak Moscow, the local fans clearly decided they’d target Frimpong with vile racist abuse.
Disgusting monkey chanting can be heard throughout the clip below, and officials, apparently ignorant of the racial abuse the FC Ufa man was being subjected to, sent him off unceremoniously.
The Russian FA will have to do something about this, otherwise they will set a dangerous precedent, and be right accused of not doing enough to tackle racism.
