NFL: Maye and Emmanwori both cleared for Super Bowl LX amid injury concerns

The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots have both received encouraging injury news ahead of Super Bowl LX, with several key players cleared to play at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.

Seahawks rookie nickelback Nick Emmanwori will feature despite suffering a sprained ankle earlier in the week, while Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has also been removed from the injury report after dealing with a shoulder issue.

Emmanwori was listed as a full participant in Friday’s walk-through session and carries no game designation. The defensive back rolled his ankle late in Wednesday’s practice but left the field under his own power and did not return.

Head coach Mike Macdonald later confirmed the injury was a low sprain, and both player and coach indicated soon after that he would be available.

Emmanwori described the incident as “just a little scare” and returned to full participation after missing Thursday’s session.

Quarterback Sam Darnold has also been cleared, having practiced fully for the second consecutive day following the oblique problem he sustained on 15 January.

Left tackle Charles Cross likewise trained fully after playing through a foot injury in the NFC Championship Game.

For the Patriots, Maye has no designation after being limited last week by a right throwing shoulder injury.

The quarterback completed full practices throughout the team’s preparation in California and reported he is feeling fully fit.

Defensively, inside linebacker Robert Spillane is questionable as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury sustained in the AFC Championship Game.

Edge rusher Harold Landry III, who recorded 8.5 sacks during the regular season and missed that game, is also listed as questionable but has expressed optimism about playing.
