Napoli and Lazio will be aiming to keep up their unbeaten starts to the Serie A season with both clubs coming into this game off the back of two draws each and two wins as well ahead of the clash at the Stadio Olimpico.
Ciro immobile was back in on the goals last time out with Lazio drawing with Sampdoria after a late goal from Manolo Gabbiadini forced a 1-1 draw. Lazio did see much of the ball in that game and should have done better, despite leading for more than 70 minutes of the 90.
It’s Immobile’s second goal after also scoring the winner against Bologna, with another draw against Torino keeping the club down in sixth after four games. On the other hand, after smashing Inter Milan 3-1 in Rome last weekend, Maurizio Sarri’s men will still be beaming with confidence. Luis Alberto scored a stunner that day, as Pedro and Felipe Anderson netted too.
Napoli have slowed down significantly from their exceptional start to the season that saw them score nine goals and concede two in the first two games. Hellas Verona were hammered by them 5-2 on the opening day, before a 4-0 demolition in Naples against Monza pushed them to the top early on.
Napoli would draw 0-0 with Fiorentina last weekend, however, while they led for just three minutes against Lecce on Wednesday night after Elif Elmas saw his goal cancelled out by Lorenzo Colombo minutes later in the first half.
It’s two unbeaten sides doing battle in this one, so it can go either way. However, it’s set to be the biggest incline into the new Serie A season to date with questions still being asked of Lazio’s top four credentials and Napoli’s title hopes.
