Livingston vs Motherwell match preview

One of these two will finish top of the bottom half, with this fixture likely to determine who claims seventh spot.

Motherwell can boast a 100% record since the split, beating both Kilmarnock and St Johnstone 2-0, before a last-gasp victory over Ross County on Saturday.

The game looked set to end goalless at Fir Park until, in the 99th minute, the Steelmen were awarded a penalty, which Kevin van Veen cooly slotted home.

The Dutch striker has scored in nine consecutive top-flight games for Motherwell, the first player to achieve that since Hughie Ferguson in 1919.

In fact, no player has scored in ten consecutive Scottish Premiership matches representing any club since Mark Viduka of Celtic in 2000/01, a record van Veen is aiming to replicate.

So, since Stuart Kettlewell was appointed manager in mid-February, the Well have taken 26 points from 12 matches, losing just twice.

Livingston meantime kick off one point and one place below the visitors, having beaten Dundee United 2-1 on Saturday; Bruce Anderson and James Penrice the scorers.

That made it three home victories on the spin for Davie Martindale’s men, who are targeting a fourth consecutive finish of seventh or higher.

Motherwell are unbeaten accross all three meetings with Livi this season, winning both at home, while the pair drew 1-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena in January.

Which way will this one go?
