Heart of Midlothian vs Ross County odds and betting statistics

Heart of Midlothian vs Ross County match preview

Can Heart of Midlothian address their alarming form?

A week ago, Hearts’ losing streak continued, this time beaten 1-0 by Hibs in the Edinburgh Derby at Easter Road.

The Jambos have now lost five successive Premiership matches for the first time since January 2008, finishing eighth back then.

Steven Naismith took caretaker charge for the first time last weekend, with Robbie Neilson having been controversial sacked.

Despite this horrendous form, Hearts are fourth, but now find themselves five points adrift Aberdeen in third.

If the Jambos are going to retain third place, thereby securing a second successive season of guaranteed European group stage football, this feels must win.

The Staggies were last in action on Friday night, narrowly beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen in Dingwall.

Six days earlier, Malky Mackay’s men had beaten St Johnstone 2-0 in Perth, a crucial win given that they’d lost three on the spin beforehand.

All of that means Ross County remain at the foot of the table, one point below Kilmarnock and Dundee United, both of whom they’ll visit in the post-split fixtures.

Hearts have won both meetings with the Staggies 2-1 so far this season, and the home side desperately need a repeat of that here.
