Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa: Match details
Match: Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa
Competition: Premier League
Date: November 27, 2021
Kick-off time: 3:00 pm, November 27, 2021 (UK time)
Stadium: Selhurst Park
Betting prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa
In what is an intriguing clash at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Steven Gerrard will be banking on the new manager bump being enough to best a stubborn Crystal Palace side that remains unbeaten in their last seven Premier League fixtures. Palace has tasted defeat just twice this season, but still struggles at times to find goals overall and will now contend with a much more confident Villa outfit that will show increased attacking intent. This could easily play out as a draw.
Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa: Recommended bets
Correct Score: Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa (6/1 odds)
Crystal Palace is one of the toughest nuts to crack in the Premier League at the minute, but they have struggled to turn performances into goals overall this season; something that suits Aston Villa to the ground as they look for re-birth under Steven Gerrard. A scoring 1-1 draw seems like a fair bet when all things are considered, especially on decent odds.
To Score Anytime: Ollie Watkins (13/5 odds)
With attacking intent looking set to take hold at Aston Villa under new boss Gerrard, a number of players could be set to benefit massively from his appointment including England international Ollie Watkins. The former Brentford forward bagged the first goal of the Gerrard era at Villa Park in their 2-0 win against Brighton, and he could be good value to net again here.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa: Match preview
Undefeated in seven and sitting mid-table in the Premier League while only tasting defeat on two occasions; Crystal Palace is one of the stories of the 2021-22 campaign, and with good reason.
With Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira at the helm, the Eagles have often turned heads this season, even if they are not scoring freely on the back of their performances.
But some have now suggested that Vieira could be a long-term replacement for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City after ripening at Selhurst Park. How he has handled midfielder Conor Gallagher and revitalized Palace in all phases of play deserves credit indeed, and they offer a very difficult opponent for Steven Gerrard’s bumping Villans after their win last weekend.
Speaking of Gerrard and Villa, the Liverpool legend could not have wished for a better start to life in his new role as manager at Villa Park after they bested Graham Potter’s Brighton 2-0 last weekend.
Villa already looked much improved under the former England international, with a more modern attacking approach at the heart of their credible result that may well have breathed new life into the club’s season after what was an abysmal start following last season’s credible efforts.
Gerrard will now clash with Vieira once again – not as competing midfielders, but rival managers – as both clubs look to establish themselves as outfits capable of finishing just outside the traditional powerhouse places in the table. With a near-fully fit squad to select from, Villa will like their chances in the capital tomorrow.
Crystal Palace team news vs Aston Villa
Patrick Vieira will only have two first-team players unavailable as his side host Gerrard’s Aston Villa outfit.
James MacArthur and Nathan Ferguson are the only absentees for the Eagles at the weekend, as Vieira looks to keep their undefeated run alive.
Aston Villa team news vs Crystal Palace
Steven Gerrard can also count on an almost fully-fit squad to select from this weekend, as both Douglas Luíz and Trézéguet returned to full training this week.
Only Bertrand Traoré is missing from action, and is still a few weeks away from making his return back into the fold.
