Both NFC West rivals enter TNF with 2-1 records, yet the moods in the respective camps couldn’t be any more different.
Arizona suffered their first loss on Sunday, going down 16-15 to the San Francisco 49ers but, perhaps more importantly, also saw star running back James Conner ruled out for the season due to a serious foot injury.
Conner will undergo surgery, leaving a major void for the Cardinals to fill.
“One of our leaders, a captain, you hate that it happens,” head coach Jonathan Gannon said. “I feel terrible, but I know he’ll take the right attitude and bounce back. Picking up that slack, both the player and the person, we’re all going to have to collectively do it, truthfully.
“But that’s a bummer just like all our guys that have gotten hurt, but I just know what type of person and player he is. It’s tough to replace, but we have to. So, that’s what we’ll do.”
Trey Benson, Emari Demercado and Bam Knight will try to replace Conner with Benson getting first dibs on the RB1 slot.
He won’t find it easy against a Seahawks defense that smothered Alvin Kamara on Sunday en route to a blowout 44-13 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Kamara was expected to give Seattle trouble but managed just 56 yards on 19 touches.
“We kinda heard the noise earlier in the week,” linebacker Ernest Jones IV said. “So we took that personal. Listen, it’s going to be tough to run the ball against us just because of the mindset and the physicality that we play [with] … We’re going to make it hard on you to run the ball on us, and if you do, good luck to you.”
Coach Mike McDonald was delighted with his team’s all-round display against the Cards.
“Just a great, great team effort,” he said. “Guys played extremely, hard, played together, complementary football. Our offense was efficient … and defensively we played hard. We did a great job, and really the story of the day, honestly, is our special teams unit.”
Seattle come into this contest on the back of a franchise-record seven straight wins on the road.

Seattle are remarkably consistent away from Lumen Field and the injury to Conner tips the scales even further in their favour.
