Preview for San Francisco 49ers @ Cleveland Browns
On the face if it, the 8-4 San Francisco 49ers should not have any concerns against the 3-8 Cleveland Browns.
But San Francisco have a dreadful record in Cleveland – they have not beaten the Browns on the road since 1984 and have struggled to get any offense going in their last three meetings, averaging 15.7 points, 290 yards and 4.6 yards per play.
Indeed, the 49ers were indebted once again to the brilliance of Christian McCaffrey, who finished with 142 scrimmage yards on 31 touches and a touchdown.
The weather forecast is not great for Sunday in Cleveland so it may be head coach Kyle Shanahan keeps the ball on the ground and asks McCaffrey to do the hard yards once again, although the Browns defense is good against the run.
The home team will be directed by Shedeur Sanders at QB. Sanders blew hot and cold in the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders last weekend but gets another shot.
“Are there things that he can do better? Absolutely,” coach Kevin Stefanski said. “We’ve already talked about that with him. He has the mentality that he will make the adjustments to the speed of the game, make the adjustments to what people are giving us, to make those improvements.”
