When Everton vs Manchester City is likely to be played
Manchester City’s trip to Everton was postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak at Guardiola’s club. However a reschedule looks set for January.
Everton vs City reschedule
Everton were scheduled to host Manchester City on Monday, however the clash was postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the latter’s camp.
The Merseyside club were seemingly unhappy with the decision, though, and have since released a statement requesting further clarification on the game’s postponement:
‘Our players were prepared for the game, as were both the team staff and everyone at Goodison. Matchday is the most important date in our calendar. And this was a big one.
Whilst Everton will always have public safety uppermost, we will be requesting full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so the Club can be clear on why this decision was taken.’
Whilst the match between Spurs and Fulham, which was also suspended, looks set to prove an altogether difficult one to rearrange, Manchester City are in a more fortunate position, and could see their meeting with Everton take place later in January.
Man City can just about manage things at the moment as they can play Everton on January 20 and Chelsea on an empty UCL RO16 week (they are paired with Chelsea in the UCL weeks) and Villa on March 2.
If the EFL semi cannot go ahead next week they also have nowhere to move games.

City’s clash versus Aston Villa has since been rescheduled for Wednesday the 20th January.
City testing
Manchester City have undergone another round of testing for Covid-19, with results set to return on Friday according to a report from Sky Sports News.
The only Citizens stars confirmed to have tested positive for the virus were Kyle Walker and and Gabriel Jesus. Both were forced to sit out their side’s Boxing Day match against Newcastle, but due to further positive tests over the days that followed, as mentioned, their scheduled meeting with Everton was postponed.
With City’s scheduled meeting with Chelsea this weekend also under threat of potential postponement should further positive tests come back, the Premier League will be desperate for good news.

Considering the fact that both City and Chelsea are playing in European competition this season, any further postponed fixtures would be difficult to rearrange.
With the Premier League ultimately responsible for deciding whether or not to postpone matchups, senior figures in the division’s governing body face a nervous wait for Friday’s results.
