Chelsea have put themselves in pole position for a third-placed finish in the Premier League once again thanks to a first-half against Leeds that sees them head into the break 1-0 up.
Mason Mount opened the scoring for the Blues after just three minutes, but the main talking point of the opening 45 minutes was a red card for Dan James, as Leeds’ second in as many games reduced Jesse Marsch’s side to 10 men with plenty of football still to be played, while also ruling the Welshman out for the remainder of the season.

Mount the golden boy again
The player in question was Mason Mount, with the Cobham graduate grabbing the only goal of the game so far, and looking lively whenever he got the ball. In bringing up his 20th goal contribution of the season, he therefore set Chelsea fans drooling once more.

Mason Mount with 20 League goals and assists this season, a tally Gerrard topped 3 times in 17 years.
I’m not comparing them as players (yet) but it does go to show how exceptional his output has been this season.
