Manchester United willing to sell key player this summer

Manchester United could let a regular starter go for the right price this summer.

With Manchester United’s summer spending set to be hampered by FFP, the Red Devils need to move on a number of players if they want to make more signings.

Among the names linked with a Manchester United exit is Fred, with fellow Premier League side Fulham thought to be interested.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the status of Fred and two more United players:

Romano said: “I understand that both Fred and Donny van de Beek could be on the move this summer. Manchester United are open to letting them go in case they receive good proposals, so talks will take place; Fulham’s interest in Fred is true but I’m told there are also more clubs who could be in the race.

“For Harry Maguire, my understanding is things are still less clear and that the player will speak to Erik ten Hag soon to clarify his situation. This has been the plan for a while, but this meeting still needs to happen, and after that we’ll see what decision all parties come to.”

The sales of Harry Maguire and Donny van de Beek are not too surprising given their lack of game time/poor form.

The Brazilian made 35 Premier League appearances last season and 56 in all competitions. And as United look to have limited funds this window, moving on the 30-year-old may not be the wisest move as whilst not the best, he is a useful squad player.
