Liverpool to sign top star in cut-price deal on one condition

Liverpool could be set to land themselves a real bargain this summer.

Liverpool could be given the opportunity to sign Matheus Nunes for a cheaper price than anticipated if Wolves are relegated from the Premier League this season.

According to Football Insider, the quoted price that the Reds could get Nunes for is £14m less than what Wolves forked out to get him in from Sporting Lisbon in August.

If Wolves stay up though, they are demanding a fee of £50m for the 24-year-old.

At present, Wolves sit 13th in the Premier League with eight games to go, which may seem like they are safe.

However, it is worth noting that only four points sit between them and the relegation zone at present.

Wolves also have some tough games left to play this season, with clashes vs Arsenal, Manchester United, Brentford and Brighton still to come.

The Reds are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements and Nunes is exactly the type of player who would thrive in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield three. He can play as a box-to-box option or in a slightly deeper role.
