Scottish giants Celtic have, on Friday, announced the club’s 2nd signing of the summer.
The latest player set to link up with Brendan Rodgers’ squad with a view to the 2023/24 campaign? Marco Tilio.
For those not familiar with his name, Tilio is an Australian international, fresh off a fine season in his home country with Melbourne City.
The attacker, who generally lines out on the right wing but is also capable of taking to the pitch on the left or even in a more central position, notched nine goals and six assists in 25 appearances in the A-League.
Still just 21 years of age, such production, in turn, evidently caught the eye of those in a position of power at Celtic Park.
The Hoops kicked negotiations with their Melbourne counterparts into gear last week, with a deal having swiftly been agreed upon between all parties.
As per an official statement across the website and social media platforms of the Scottish champions:
‘Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of Australian internationalist, Marco Tilio on a five-year deal subject to the usual international clearance.’

Tilio’s arrival marks the 2nd of the summer at Parkhead, after a deal was struck for another highly-regarded up-and-coming talent – Odin Thiago Holm – this day last week.
