After Sandro Tonali, Newcastle set sights on two more headline Serie A stars

Premier League up-and-comers Newcastle United’s raid on Serie A may not yet be finished just yet, according to reports.

The subject of imminent arrivals, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines at St. James’ Park across the week to date.

This comes after the Newcastle brass, seemingly out of the blue, struck a big-money agreement with their counterparts at AC Milan, over the signing of Italian international Sandro Tonali.

A deal for a sum with the potential to rise as high as €80 million is understood to be on the verge of completion, with Tonali set to add further bite and quality to an increasingly impressive midfield under the watch of Eddie Howe.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Magpies’ Italian spending spree may not come to a close with just Tonali.

This comes amid claims that the powers that be on Tyneside have identified not one, but two more targets currently plying their trade in Serie A.

And Newcastle are also keeping a close eye on the situation of Juventus wide-man Federico Chiesa, amid murmurs that the former Fiorentina standout could be on the move this summer, for the right price.
