‘The difference’ - Two West Ham stars singled out for widespread praise after Anderlecht

Two members of David Moyes’ West Ham squad have been lavished in widespread praise on Thursday night.

The Irons, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

After kicking their post-international break endeavours into gear courtesy of a morale-boosting 2-0 downing of Wolves at the weekend, Moyes and co. turned their attentions towards matters on the continent, with a trip to Belgium to face Anderlecht.

And, when all was said and done, West Ham made it three wins from three in this season’s edition of the Europa Conference League, to all but ensure their qualification to the competition’s knockout rounds.

The difference-maker, on the night, proved summer arrival Gianluca Scamacca.

After being introduced off the bench 20 minutes from time, the Italian international swiftly made his presence felt, combining with fellow substitute Lucas Paqueta to bag what proved to be a stylish winner:

And, in the time since, both goalscorer Scamacca, and creator Paqueta, have been widely hailed for their efforts.

As alluded to above, both summer additions to the Hammers’ ranks were thrown into the fray just shy of the 70-minute mark at Lotto Park, adding some much-needed creativity and flair to proceedings.

The West Ham faithful, in turn, have been quick to lavish praise on both, with just some of the post-match highlights from across social media showcased below:
