Fans of nations across the globe have flooded to social media on Friday evening, to take collective aim at Uruguay star Luis Suarez.
This, of course, comes after the former Liverpool and Barcelona standout saw his World Cup dreams brought to an end in heartbreaking fashion.
Uruguay, for their part, were back in action a short time ago.
In the knowledge that a three-point haul in their final Group H outing, coupled with anything other than a Portugal defeat at the hands of South Korea, would guide them safely through to the knockout rounds of the competition, the Celeste went toe-to-toe with African heavyweights Ghana.
And, when all was said and done in Al-Wakrah, Diego Alonso’s troops did their part, courtesy of a double on the part of a double from Man of the Match Giorgian de Arrascaeta.

In turn, as proceedings in the evening’s other Group H encounter rolled into injury time, Uruguay were primed to march on to the knockout rounds of the World Cup.
This came as Wolves hitman Hwang Hee-chan emerged from the bench to produce a last-gasp South Korea winner over Portugal.
The Uruguayans, in turn, were sent packing from world football’s grandest stage in the most devastating fashion imaginable.
One individual on the Celeste side of things who did not come in for all that much sympathy on the back of proceedings being brought to a close on Friday, though, was Luis Suarez.
Luis Suárez plays for Nacional in the Uruguayan Primera División now. That’s the last time most of us will ever watch him play football. His final image not just in the World Cup, but on the world stage. pic.twitter.com/vtpiY2JgM1

Hitman Suarez, of course, was responsible for one of the most memorable moments in the recent history of the World Cup back in 2010, when his deliberate handball culminated in Uruguay ousting today’s opponents Ghana from the tournament at the quarter-final stage.
The prolific forward’s ensuing celebrations, and refusal to apologise for his actions when afforded the opportunity earlier this week, in turn, saw fans the world over come together late this evening, to poke fun at Suarez in absolutely ruthless fashion.
Check out the best which social media had to offer below:
Ghana making time-wasting substitutions when they need two goals, just to ensure Suarez is eliminated. This is generational hating.

If Ghana can hold on, I want them to celebrate this loss in front of Suarez’s face so very badly
