Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has been forced to delete a tweet hinting at the return of Jadon Sancho to Manchester City.
The pair are currently away on international duty together with England ahead of Euro 2020 qualifying.
Sterling attempted to poke fun at his former City teammate on Twitter but he may have revealed some big information.
Sterling’s Tweet: “So u actually have a buy back clause?”
The 23-year-old deleted a Tweet claiming that City have a buy-back clause on Sancho.
Although Sterling is clearly having a laugh, it is uncertain whether the information is also a joke.
The fact that he has since deleted the Tweet makes it more questionable as to whether it is true.
Sterling’s deleted tweet read:
“So u actually have a buy back clause?”
Sancho left City last summer after his contract expired and has become one of the biggest teenage stars with Borussia Dortmund.
Many been left scratching their heads as to how the Premier League champions allowed him to leave and for free.
The forward has since been linked with England’s top-six clubs but City could hold an edge over the competition.
Manchester United are seemingly City’s biggest threat in the race to sign Sancho.
Speaking about Sancho, Sterling told Sport360:
“The first day I’d seen him training with us, I was really happy to see such a talent.
“I always knew he’d become the player he has, for sure. From minute one.
“I was playing right-back one day in pre-season training and he spun me and I nearly did my back in.”
