Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the media ahead of Manchester City’s next outing.

Manchester City will take on Leeds United at Elland Road in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

Ahead of the tie, Pep spoke to the media on Friday and discussed a number of topics, including Jurgen Klopp signing a new contract with Liverpool.

When asked if Klopp signing a new deal has convinced Pep to stay in Manchester, the Spaniard said: “I don’t know, the focus is an important thing. Congratulations to Jurgen and Liverpool think its good for the Premier League and the future.

“Why should it make an impact? Everyone in this situation, if we decide to stay longer it’s not because my colleague gets a new contract. I don’t see the correlation.”

Pep then delivered a concerning team news update, suggesting Kyle Walker could be out for the season and that John Stones is out this weekend and could miss out vs Real Madrid as well:

Manchester City head into the weekend’s action sitting top of the Premier League by a single point.

However, by the time they kick off in north Yorkshire, the Sky Blues may have been knocked off top spot by Liverpool, who take on Newcastle United in the day’s early kick-off.

As for Leeds United, they are now essentially safe from relegation, sitting five points clear of the bottom three with five games left to play.

The Whites are also unbeaten in their last five and are expected to prove a tough test for Manchester City, who were pushed to the limit by Real Madrid in midweek.
