Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina squad for the country’s upcoming Copa America commitments has this evening been announced.
The latest edition of the Copa America, which sees the finest national sides from South America pitted against one another, is set to take place in Brazil over the coming months.
The tournament will be spread across dates between the 14th of June and 7th of July, in 5 host cities.
Hosts Brazil are currently viewed as clear favourites to emerge victorious, with the Selecao’s absolute embarrassment of riches having been highlighted by the fact that the likes of Marcelo, Fabinho, Douglas Costa and Lucas Moura were all omitted from Tite’s final 23-man squad, announced last week:

Albiceleste’s Copa woes
Currently ranked as 2nd-favourites with the bookies to clinch Copa glory this summer are Lionel Messi’s Argentina.
The Albiceleste will of course be hoping to go one step further this time out than they managed in both 2015 and 2016, having been put to the sword by Chile in the competition’s finale two years running.
Aguero in, Icardi out
And, ahead of their latest assault on the Copa title, Argentina’s 23-man squad has this evening been made official.
Star attackers Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero are all present in Lionel Scaloni’s panel, alongside the likes of Manchester City’s Nicolas Otamendi and Tottenham stopper Juan Foyth.
The one glaring omission from the Albiceleste’s squad, however, is Inter Milan hitman Mauro Icardi:
