Bad news for Everton ahead of London trip
Everton boss Marco Silva has revealed that talisman Richarlison and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will both miss his side’s clash with Tottenham this weekend.
The Toffees have finished the season strongly considering their mid-season struggles.
Everton and Marco Silva couldn’t buy a win over the Christmas period, but have beaten all of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in recent games.
That has seen them climb to 8th in the Premier League table, and a win this weekend would secure that spot.
However, they look set to take on Spurs without potentially three first-team stars.
Richarlison & Calvert-Lewin out, Coleman a doubt
That’s because Marco Silva has revealed a big injury blow ahead of the clash.
First up, Richarlison will miss the game against Spurs due to an ongoing rib problem.
“Richarlison came out of the last game with a problem with his rib. He will be out of the next game, definitely,” Silva explained, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
Next is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has led the line for Everton during most of the current campaign.
However, he won’t be available this weekend after a ‘kick in training’.
“He’s injured at this moment, he’s not able to play the next match,” Silva continued.
“It was a kick in training, the first day of the week. Nothing special, but for the next match he will not be available.”
Last up, stand-in Everton captain Seamus Coleman is a doubt for the game with a ‘small problem in his groin’.
“Let’s see if Coleman can play or not. He will be a doubt, let’s see tomorrow. It’s nothing special, a small problem in his groin,” Silva concluded.
