Matic’s playing time dwindling
Nemanja Matic made the switch to Manchester United in July of 2017, from fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea.
After making the switch to Old Trafford, the Serbian cemented himself as a key figure in United’s midfield.
The 31-year-old has featured 92 times across all competitions for the Manchester powerhouse.
However, since Jose Mourinho left United, Matic’s playing time has slowly declined.
The veteran midfielder found his game time slightly limited towards the back end of last campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And the 2019/20 campaign has seen Matic become an increasingly marginalised figure in United’s first-team squad.
Matic has featured in just three PL ties so far this term, failing to complete 90 minutes in any of those outings.
Eriksen to Man United?
Now, with Matic’s future at Old Trafford looking rather bleak, could we see him once again reunited with Jose Mourinho?
Like Matic, Eriksen is out of contract with his current club in the summer.
And the same report from The Athletic claims that Eriksen has told Mourinho that he wishes to pursue a new challenge after six years in north London.
Man United and Tottenham are currently locked in action in a Premier League clash.
United began the day 10th in the table, while Spurs were sat in 6th.
