Man City 1st, Liverpool 2nd
After 29 games in the Premier League, Manchester City are a point clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.
Liverpool dropped two points on Sunday in a 0-0 draw at Everton.
The Reds have drawn their last three away matches in a row.
Moreover, Liverpool have four draws in their last six league matches.
At the same time, Man City have been revving up to full speed.
While winning the Carabao Cup, the Sky Blues have also won five of their last six games.
On Saturday Man City beat Bournemouth 1-0.
Gary Neville advises Liverpool to lose to Bayern Munich
Following the Merseyside derby, Gary Neville recorded his latest podcast for Sky Sports.
Jamie Carragher joined his fellow Sky pundit on the broadcast.
Neville addressed the big issue this Monday: can Liverpool still beat Man City to the title?
Of course, Man City will now win the league if they win their last nine matches of the season.
However the pundits agreed that the fixture list appears to be more favourable to Liverpool in the final months.
The Champions League was also flagged up as a major issue in the Premier League title race, with Neville advising Liverpool to lose to Bayern Munich:
I’ve always thought that for Liverpool to win the league they have to have a clean fixture list.
I’m gonna say it. Go out against Bayern Munich.
That seems like madness. You can’t play to lose a game.
But actually I think it’ll be in Liverpool’s favour if they can have a clean run.
Bayern Munich vs Liverpool
The Bayern vs Liverpool tie is poised at 0-0 after the first leg at Anfield.
The return leg at the Allianz Arena is next midweek.
Should Liverpool score once in Germany, Bayern will need to score twice to avoid going out on the way goals rule.
