A fresh update on the wellbeing of sidelined Liverpool star Luis Diaz has been forthcoming late on Friday night.
And the news is no doubt set to come as a blow to all associated with the club.
Diaz, after exploding onto the scene on the back of his arrival on Merseyside at the beginning of the year, has of course since endured an altogether underwhelming season to date.
Owing largely to fitness concerns, the Colombian has been confined to starts in just seven of Liverpool’s league outings.

Word coming to the fore this past week that Diaz had stepped up his recovery from a long-standing knee injury whilst taking part in a training camp alongside the rest of Jurgen Klopp’s squad in Dubai, in turn, saw hope mount that the gifted winger was in line for an imminent return to the pitch.
As alluded to above, though, if ensuing reports in the media on Friday night are anything to go by, then, in fact, Diaz’s time on the sidelines looks set to be extended, and considerably.
This comes after Diaz suffered a recurrence of the knee issue which has hampered him since back in October.
Early estimations point towards an updated comeback date at some point in March, a heavy blow for Jurgen Klopp and co. ahead of a crucial 2nd half to the campaign.
