Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed today that Romelu Lukaku has suffered an injury blow and he is unsure of how long he could be absent.
It had been speculated this week that the player could be set to miss the clash with Brighton this weekend following an injury.
Now, Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the player will miss the game at the weekend.
Though, his is positive that the player will be fit for the FA Cup final with Chelsea.
“I don’t know [how long he will be out],” said Mourinho.
“I just know that he will not play tomorrow. Apart from that we need to wait for more scans, more time.”
When asked about the FA Cup final, he responded: “I hope so, it looks positive.”
There has been another player that has been absent for a little while now.
That comes in the form of Eric Bailly who some suspect has had a falling out with Mourinho.
Now, the Portuguese boss has moved to clear the air over the defender’s absence.
“There’s no situation, he’s fine, no injury,” said Mourinho.
“He’s one of our five central defenders. Honestly, my work is not about World Cups and preparing players for them.
“But he’s the only central defender that his country is not in the World Cup so if I have to make a more emotional, effective choice to help my players, he’s the one I won’t help until the end of the season.
“I try not to, I try to be a good team manager and that means a bit cold, selfish, but I’m not as bad as that.
“I still have space for a little bit of feelings.”
Imagine all the goals Lukaku would score if he could cross it to himself.
