West Ham’s season is a complete disaster

West Ham’s season is lurching from one disaster to another right now and you have to feel sorry for manager Slaven Bilic and the club’s co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan

The Hammers had a fine campaign last time out, reaching the Europa League through a high league position that was totally warranted after some fine displays, lead by Dimitri Payet.

Their move to the London Stadium, which housed the Olympics in 2012, was supposed to see West Ham challenge the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham who are the capital’s top clubs.

Instead, it has been a complete disaster with fans unhappy about the new ground, predominantly due to the distance between supporters and the action on the pitch.

But, the results have been awful as well.

5 Premier League defeats out of 6

For the second successive season, West Ham exited the Europa League before the group stage, at the hands of Astra from Romania.

And, West Ham have produced relegation form in the Premier League this season.

Sunday’s 3-0 home defeat to Southampton means they have lost five Premier League matches out of just six this season.

Incredible revelation

The embarrassment on the pitch looks set to be compounded off it by a revelation that was produced by the Premier League’s international feed during the game with Southampton.

Commentators revealed that West Ham are forced to play crowd noise ahead of matches to improve the atmosphere at the London Stadium.

They were unsure whether the crowd noise is pumped out during the game, but commented that it was a sad state of affairs for West Ham, who were expecting big things when they left Upton Park for the London Stadium.

The “crowd noise” claim was also confirmed by those at the London Stadium on Sunday. Oh dear!

Twitter users were quick to jump on this revelation, which is pretty shocking if you are in anyway connected with West Ham.
