Harvey Elliott sets a Liverpool record with start vs Leeds United

Leeds vs Liverpool

Leeds and Liverpool are set to face off on Sunday afternoon.

The tie comes with the two sides in very contrasting form of late.

Leeds will kick off the clash searching for their first Premier League win of the 2021/22 campaign, whilst Liverpool are looking to continue their unbeaten start.

The Reds won their opening two bouts of the season before then being held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Chelsea in their final outing before the international break.

As a result, though Leeds will likely fancy their chances of getting something from the game, Liverpool are viewed as favourites.

Harvey Elliott sets Liverpool record

One of the more surprising omissions from Jurgen Klopp’s team on Sunday was Jordan Henderson.

The Liverpool skipper was left on the bench, with the club’s boss having instead opted for a midfield trio of Thiago, Fabinho and Harvey Elliott.

And now, after his start versus Leeds was confirmed, Harvey Elliott has set a club record.

As per Opta’s Michael Reid, the ex-Fulham talent (18y 161d) is the youngest midfield player ever to start three consecutive league games for Liverpool:
