Former Manchester City star Fernandinho has taken to social media on Tuesday evening, to send a message to a one-time Sky Blues teammate.
The player in question? Romeo Lavia.
For those not aware, Lavia, a summer arrival at St. Mary’s Stadium, was back in action a short time ago.
Despite his tender years, the highly-regarded Belgian youth international was afforded his 5th successive start to open the campaign, as Southampton played host to Chelsea in a Premier League clash.
And what a night it proved for Lavia.
En route to an eventual 2-1 triumph for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s troops, the 18-year-old pulled his side level just shy of the half-hour mark, courtesy of a fine right-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area:

And, as alluded to above, amongst those most keen to send a message of congratulations to the midfielder post-match was an ex-teammate, in the form of Fernandinho.
Taking to his official Twitter account a short time ago, Brazilian icon Fernandinho unveiled the following post:
@RomeoLavia Congrats on the first goal as professional bro.
Great game and great win.— Fernandinho (@fernandinho) August 30, 2022
