Europa League draw: Arsenal & Manchester United learn their fates
The draw for the 2022/23 Europa League group stage took place on Friday afternoon.
From England, both Manchester United and Arsenal are taking part in this season’s tournament.
Manchester United have had some success in the competition previously, lifting the trophy back in 2017 under Jose Mourinho after seeing off Ajax.
Manchester United also reached the final in 2021, but were bested by competition specialist, Unai Emery.
And with the Premier League almost certainly not heading back to Old Trafford this summer, this competition is likely to be of great importance to Erik ten Hag and co. once again.
As for Arsenal, they have spent a fair bit of time in the Europa League of late, but have never won it.
They reached the final in 2000 and 2019, but lost on both occasions.
