Cristiano Ronaldo scores twice as Al-Nassr maintain perfect start to Saudi Pro League campaign

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al-Nassr extended their Saudi Pro League winning run to 10 successive games to move four points clear at the top of the table.

The 40-year-old bagged a first-half brace at Al-Awwal Park as Al-Nassr secured a 3-0 victory over strugglers Al Akhdoud.

Compatriot Joao Felix added a third in second-half stoppage time to move to 13 league goals for the campaign, with Ronaldo one behind on 12.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus man, who had earlier rattled the underside of the crossbar, opened the scoring after 31 minutes, lashing the ball in at the far post after Abdulelah Al-Amri had diverted the ball into his path.

His second arrived on the stroke of half-time, when Marcelo Brozovic delivered a low cross inside the box from the right flank which Ronaldo dispatched with a first-time shot.

The Portuguese star thought he had completed a hat-trick when he found the net again in the 66th minute, but Sultan Al Ghanam, who supplied the cross, was adjudged to have been offside.

Nawaf Al Boushal then set up Felix late on to add further sheen to the result as Al Nassr picked up a comfortable three points.
