Chelsea starlet Casadei speaks out on future amid Italy return links
Up-and-coming Chelsea talent Cesare Casadei has, on Saturday, moved to clarify his future.
For those not aware, the name of midfielder Casadei has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in his home country of Italy, ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.
This comes amid suggestions that the 20-year-old could be primed for a move back to Serie A, just 12 months on from swapping Inter Milan for west London.
A whole host of clubs, including heavyweights Juventus, are understood to be keeping a close eye on Casadei’s situation, ready to pounce should the powers that be at Stamford Bridge open to a sale.
If the latest comments on the part of the versatile midfielder himself are anything to go by, however, then he will be going nowhere any time soon.
During an exchange with the media on Saturday, Casadei, unsurprisingly, saw the subject of his future emerge as a central topic.
In quotes secured by Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, he explained:
“I have a five-year contract with Chelsea and embarked on a journey that is not short-term. The club is investing in young players and I am about to be part of its project.”
“My ambition is to wear the Chelsea jersey and play in the Premier League, which is now the number one league in the world.”
