Jamie Carragher gets his Sky Sports job back after ‘Man United’ spit storm

Jamie Carragher returns to Sky Sports

It’s been confirmed on Tuesday that Jamie Carragher will return to Sky Sports next season.

The former Liverpool star was suspended from Sky Sports after a spitting incident with a Man United fan.

Carragher was caught on video spitting at a Manchester United fan who goaded him on the highway after Man United beat Liverpool in the league.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Sky have now issued a statement confirming Carragher’s return:

A Sky spokesman said: ‘We’ve spoken to Jamie and reminded him of the standards we expect at Sky Sports. He has shown remorse, is hugely apologetic for the offence he caused and has taken the appropriate steps to make sure that the incident will not be repeated.’

It is understood that the decision to retain Carragher went right to the top of the organisation.

The news will be welcomed by football fans. Along with Gary Neville, Carragher is one of the best pundits on Sky.

Since the ‘spit storm’, Carragher has been working for the Telegraph and Scandinavian TV.

Jamie Carragher has yet to react to his Sky Sports return on social media.

But in the aftermath of his suspension, the pundit was quick to apologise on social media.

Carragher admitted his bad behaviour was “totally out of order”, and he took full responsibility for what happened.

He’s now been handed a second chance.
