Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes could be present at Man United’s meeting with Liverpool – Sky

As per a report from Sky Sports News, Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes could be present at the club’s meeting with Liverpool this weekend, ahead of his imminent Old Trafford switch.

United eyeing reinforcements

Speculation surrounding the future of attacking midfielder Fernandes has been rampant this month.

On the back of widespread links to the Premier League last summer, the 25-year-old has again been hotly-tipped to make his way to England since the opening of the winter transfer window.

This comes amid another stellar campaign to this point, during which Fernandes has directly contributed to 28 goals in just 25 appearances.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have been the club pushing hardest for the Sporting star’s signature.

It has long been common knowledge that Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the lookout for attack-minded midfield reinforcements, amid Jesse Lingard’s struggles.

But, with first-choice targets James Maddison and Christian Eriksen looking unattainable, Solskjaer and co. have switched their attentions firmly back to Fernandes.

Thus far, however, despite reports of intense negotiations, an agreement with Sporting is yet to be found.

Fernandes at Anfield?

If the aforementioned report from Sky Sports this afternoon is to be believed, though, then Fernandes does in fact appear to be inching closer to joining the Red Devils.

It is claimed that the Portuguese international could be in attendance at United’s next outing this weekend.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are set to travel to Anfield on Sunday, for a high-profile Premier League meeting with Liverpool.

And Fernandes, after playing what is likely to be his final game for Sporting in the Lisbon derby versus Benfica tonight, is subsequently expected to fly to England, to watch on as his future teammates take on the European champions.
