The representative of in-demand Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has, on Thursday, spoken publicly for the first time regarding his client’s failed transfer away from England’s south coast.
The name of midfield starlet Caicedo, of course, took its place front and centre in the headlines throughout the January transfer window.
This came as the Ecuadorian, owing to a stellar opening half of the campaign at the Amex Stadium, was added to the wishlists of not one, but two of the Premier League’s heavyweights.
After Chelsea first identified Caicedo as an alternative to first-choice midfield target Enzo Fernandez, capital rivals Arsenal soon entered the fray.
In fact, amid the club’s ongoing pursuit of what would prove a shock league title, the powers that be at the Emirates went as far as to table a pair of big-money bids for Brighton’s star man.
When all was said and done, though, the stance of the board at the Amex that Caicedo was simply not for sale, proved unwavering.
News #Caicedo: #AFC doesn’t give up! New offer of £70m with possible bonus payments confirmed. Arsenal is still pushing & pushing.
But #BHAFC rejected the new and massive offer again … ❌

During an interview with Marca90Ec, Sierra was drawn directly on the midfielder’s widely-scrutinised public transfer request, and went on to point towards ‘an opportunity that may not be repeated in life’ as justification:
“The offers were received, you see what is on the table and Moisés [Caicedo] says that he wants to go forward, that it is the dream of his whole life. That it is an opportunity that may not be repeated in life.
“And we helped draft the statement. In that statement, he expresses his wish and his gratitude to the club because they gave him the chance to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League. We don’t know what can happen tomorrow, maybe he trains and gets injured. We can’t know what’s going to happen.”
🚨 Moises Caicedo’s agent has broken his silence on his client’s failed move away from #BHAFC in January. Reveals he helped the player draft the statement; understandable why he is internally believed to have been the driving force behind it.https://t.co/xWhAtdHg9Y
