Arsenal set new club record in win over Wolves

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal secured for themselves an altogether impressive piece of club history on Saturday night.

The Gunners, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

Sitting pretty atop the Premier League table, Arteta and co. made the trip to Molineux to face Wolves in the knowledge that a victory would guide them into the World Cup break a full five points clear at the summit.

This comes after Manchester City slipped to a shock defeat at the hands of Brentford earlier in the day.

And, when all was said and done, Arsenal duly obliged, courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 triumph.

Martin Odegaard proved the star of the show, bagging both of the goals amid a Man of the Match display from his berth at the tip of the Gunners’ midfield.

As revealed post-match, their current record of 12 wins, one draw and just a solitary defeat marks Arsenal’s best-ever start to a league campaign.

Not only that, but the north Londoners have too become just the 8th side to win as many as 12 of their first 14 games of a Premier League season.
