A fresh insight into the ongoing efforts of the Arsenal hierarchy to bring in Moises Caicedo from Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion has been provided late on Friday evening.
The subject of Arsenal’s interest in Ecuadorian talent Caicedo has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of north London across the day to date.
This comes after the 21-year-old – also a chief target of Chelsea – was identified as the ideal January addition to Mikel Arteta’s ranks.
The Gunners are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park, owing to a concerning lack of depth behind first-choice deep-lying pair Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.

Caicedo, both Premier League-proven and with age on his side, is therefore viewed as an option for present and future alike.
Arsenal, it is understood, moved forward with an opening offer for the 21-year-old earlier today, informing their Brighton counterparts of the club’s readiness to fork over £60 million for his signature.
As per a report from the reliable Sam Dean of the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal intend to return with an improved bid over the coming days.
It currently remains unclear just how much the transfer team at the Emirates are willing to cough up, but their incoming proposal is expected to come considerably closer to meeting Brighton’s considerable demands.
