Vancouver Whitecaps vs CF Montréal odds and betting statistics

Vancouver Whitecaps vs CF Montréal match preview

The 16th Canadian Championship Final sees a repeat of the 2013 and 2015 showpiece occasions.

A decade ago, Montreal Impact prevailed on away goals over two legs before, two years later, Vancouver captured their very first Voyageurs Cup with a 4-2 aggregate win.

Now, in this one-off final, who will be crowned kings of Canada in British Columbia?

Vancouver Whitecaps are seeking to win this competition for only the third time, aiming to retain the trophy, having beaten record-winners Toronto on penalties 12 months ago.

So far in this cup run, the Caps have seen off York United and Pacific FC, both away from home, and will now get the honour of hosting this final.

Meantime, Vanni Sartini’s side are currently sixth in MLS’ Western Conference, having smashed Houston Dynamo 6-2 last mid-week, scoring 6+ in any game for the very first time.

Club de Foot Montréal meantime have won this competition four times in the last decade, most-recently doing so in 2021 courtesy of a 1-0 win over Toronto.

To get to this final, Hernán Losada’s men have seen off local rivals TFC again, taking advantage of the Reds’ ongoing turmoil, also overcoming Vaughan Azzurri and Forge FC.

Montréal were demolished 3-0 by Philadelphia Union on Saturday, so remain tenth in the east, just below the play-off line, two points worse off than their Canadian rivals over the west.

Vancouver Whitecaps do kick off as favourites to retain the Voyageurs Cup, so will it be a night to remember for the home fans inside BC Place?
