Match preview
Two sides on altogether contrasting trajectories are set to go head to head in a Ligue 1 clash at The Roazhon Park this Sunday, October 16th.
The clash in question will see a Stade Rennais outfit on the up play host to a free-falling Olympique Lyonnais.
Starting with the former, Rennes, on the back of a shaky opening to the campaign, have looked vastly improved of late.
A comfortable 3-0 downing of Nantes last weekend was followed by a further triumph over Dynamo Kyiv in midweek, to stretch Les Rouge et Noir’s win streak to four games across all competitions.
Even more impressive is the current unbeaten stretch being enjoyed by Bruno Genesio’s troops, with Sunday’s hosts, all told, having not fallen to defeat in any of their last 10 fixtures.
Central to such success, from an individual standpoint, has been Martin Terrier, with the gifted attacker having racked up a head-turning 10 direct goal contributions in his last 12 appearances across all competitions.

On the flip side of things, Rennes’ upcoming opponents have seen their form fall off something of a cliff of late.
Lyon started the season in impressive fashion, notching thirteen points from an available fifteen, with summer returnee Alexandre Lacazette looking set to prove an inspired signing.
Recent weeks, however, have proven of an altogether less fruitful nature for the one-time heavyweights.
A four-game losing streak was only brought to a close by means of an uninspired stalemate with Toulouse last time out, enough to cost manager Peter Bosz his position.
All associated with OL will therefore be hopeful of the ‘new manager bounce’ taking immediate effect this weekend, with French icon Laurent Blanc the man chosen to get the club’s campaign back on track.
We at 101 are nevertheless backing form to win out at The Roazhon Park, though, with hosts Rennes tipped to emerge triumphant come the final whistle.
