Match preview

The league leaders are back in action this Wednesday in Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain meeting with Strasbourg as the away side aim to put together a run of form that sees them jump out of the relegation spots in the French top flight.

PSG have been untouched in Ligue 1 so far this campaign. The club are coming into this one with no losses so far in the league, drawing two games and winning 13 of the 15 outings. It sees them have a five-point gap on Lens in second and with only nine goals let in and 43 goals scored and it will likely be just a matter of time until we see them lift the title this season.

PSG will be without Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe for this game, which will leave the goalscoring duties down to Neymar in this game. Messi and Mbappe both played 120 minutes in the World Cup final and won’t be in action back on the domestic scene for a few weeks at least it seems.

As for Strasbourg, they had to cancel two of their friendlies during the World Cup and played against only Feyenoord in this time, losing to the Dutch side 1-0. They did manage to draw three of their four games just prior to the World Cup break, but they remain in 19th.

In fact, Strasbourg have still only won one game in the league so far and have a two-point gap to make up on the safe spots in Ligue 1.
