Marseille will be desperate to build on their sensational French Cup win in midweek after the club defeated Paris Saint-Germain just a few days on from losing to Nice at the Orange Velodrome with Clermont Foot up next away from home.
Marseille were smashed all over the park on their own turf against Nice last Sunday, as Ruslan Malinovskyi scored another goal as he continues to be one of the bargains of the season. A 3-1 loss still keeps them in second by now level on points with third-placed Lens.
Malinovskyi scored the winning goal against PSG in the French Cup round of 16 on Wednesday, as Alexis Sanchez also scored from the spot in a thrilling game at the Orange Velodrome.
As for Clermont, they are winless in almost a month now since their 2-1 win away from home against last-placed Angers. They’ve since gone on to register a goalless draw each against Nantes and Lille before a 2-0 defeat against Monaco.
Clermont sit with 30 points now and are only outside of the top 10 on goals difference with poor goalscoring return of just 24 goals scored and 29 let in.
