The England international found the breathrough with a stunning goal just before half-time
Morgan Rogers and Matheus Cunha have both netted stunning strikes to level the game between Aston Villa and Manchester United at 1-1 heading into half-time.
In an even contest at Villa Park, it was the hosts who broke through first, as we headed into additional time at the end of a half that had failed to provide too much in the way of chances.
Latching on to a long ball out on the left, Rogers controlled superbly before driving into the box.
He then saw his opportunity, unleashing a stunning curling strike into the top corner and leaving Senne Lammens stranded in goal.
After pulling out his trademark celebration, the Villa star had upped the noise levels inside the stadium, but United had something to say about things.
With around a minute left to play, Matty Cash had a lapse of concentration which allowed Matheus Cunha to pick up the ball in the box.
He then curled his own effort in past Emiliano Martinez, to silence the Villa faithful.
It leaves the game finely poised heading into the second half.
