Premier League TV picks: Crucial relegation clash moved to Monday night in April fixtures

The Premier League has confirmed its latest round of broadcast selections, with several fixtures moved for television coverage across matchweek 36 while others remain subject to the traditional Saturday blackout.

A notable outcome sees Manchester United handed a rare 3pm Saturday kick-off for their trip to Sunderland. It marks the first time since late October that United will not be shown live on UK television, having frequently featured in prime broadcast slots throughout the season.

Because of the long-standing 3pm blackout rule in the UK, supporters will be unable to watch the match live domestically, despite five of the ten fixtures across the weekend being selected for coverage.

Key TV picks

The standout fixture of the weekend sees Liverpool host Chelsea in the early Saturday kick-off, which has been chosen for TNT Sports. That match could still be adjusted depending on Liverpool’s involvement in the Champions League.

Later on Saturday, Manchester City face Brentford in the evening slot on Sky Sports.

Sunday’s schedule focuses on both ends of the table. Nottingham Forest take on Newcastle, while West Ham United host Arsenal, with both matches selected for live coverage.
