Brentford 3-1 Burnley
All four goals came late on at the Gtech Community Stadium as Brentford emerged 3-1 winners against struggling Burnley.
After a goalless first-half, the contest sprang into life in the final 10 minutes when the hosts deservedly went in front when Bees top scorer Igor Thiago tucked away an 81st minute penalty.
But less than five minutes later, Burnley were given the chance to draw level from the spot, which Zian Flemming gratefully received.
That was not the end of the drama, however, Thiago notching his second with four minutes of the 90 remaining before Dango Ouattara made the points safe deep into stoppage time.
Sunderland 3-2 Bournemouth
Sunderland moved up to fourth in the table after an enthralling tie at the Stadium of Light saw Regis Le Bris’ side come from behind to beat Bournemouth.
The Cherries raced into a 2-0 lead inside the opening quarter of an hour, Amine Adli netting after just seven minutes before a Tyler Adams goal-of-the-season contender extended the advantage eight minutes later.
On the half-hour mark, Enzo Le Fee halved the deficit for the Black Cats when he confidently dispatched a penalty high into the net after Reinildo had been tripped in the box.
A minute after the break, Sunderland drew level courtesy of Bertrand Traore’s first goal for the club before the visitors thought they restored the lead but Evanilson, in an offside position, chose to tap home when the ball already seemed destined to cross the line.
In an entertaining contest, the comeback was complete in the 69th minute when substitute Brian Brobbey headed in a third for Sunderland just minutes after coming on.
Marcus Tavernier then rattled the woodwork late on for Bournemouth, who also saw Lewis Cook sent off in stoppage time, as the hosts held on to record another impressive victory and maintain their unbeaten home record.
