Man United vs Burnley: Hosts lead but Cunha suffers injury after Mount is denied penalty
Man United have scored their first home goal of the season
Josh Cullen’s own goal gave Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim a measure of relief during a dismal week as the hosts went ahead against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
United midfielder Casemiro’s crashing header rattled the crossbar and hit Clarets captain Josh Cullen on its way in after 27 minutes, although former United loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka almost clawed the ball off the line.
Mason Mount thought he had won a penalty for United earlier in the half after a challenge by Kyle Walker, only for a Video Assistant Referee review to overturn the punishment.

Man United vs Burnley: Cunha injury
New £62.5 million United forward Matheus Cunha was forced off shortly after the goal, heading down the tunnel to receive treatment on an injury.
Fellow attacking signing Benjamin Sesko, who made his first start in the humiliating EFL Cup exit at fourth-tier Grimsby Town but suffered severe cramp towards the end of extra time, was not sent on, with Joshua Zirkzee replacing Cunha.
Promoted last season, Burnley lost their first away game 3-0 at Tottenham but had won their subsequent two home games, beating Sunderland 2-0 in the Premier League and Championship club Derby County in the EFL Cup.
Burnley drew their last visit to United 1-1 in April 2024 but their fragile first-half performance suggested a significant improvement would be required to repeat that result.
