Liverpool have the chance to build on their much-needed win at West Ham when Sunderland visit Anfield tonight.

Arne Slot’s side recorded just their fourth victory in 13 games in all competitions at the London Stadium after a miserable week that saw them well beaten by both Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven.

Sunderland will arrive on Merseyside boosted by their rousing win over Bournemouth on Saturday. Regis Le Bris’ men were 2-0 down but hit back to win 3-2 to continue their excellent start since promotion.

A win for Liverpool tonight would see them climb above the Wearsiders in the table.
